This was just the 80's and once again....I am not stating, I watched every single episode here, but I did watch each one of these shows. I cannot believe this is a list from the 80's. I did not even go into the 90's yet, I stopped!

Sex Symbol: Raquel Welch

When I think of sex symbols from when I was a kid, Raquel Welch was ahead of the pack. I remember
her in many movies, the first she played "Loana the Fair One" in One Million Years, B.C .

                                             
           Then I remember her in Bedazzled where she was played the role of a character named Lust.

The next role she entered was Maria Stoner and it was a western, called Bandolero!

"Don't Be A Paleface!"

While searching the internet in my quest to pull up things from my past, I ran across this one Coppertone ad that was seen in magazines to billboards to even buses and benches. This ad was everywhere and living in the sunshine state, we saw it a lot more than others plus it started from an advertising group out of Florida.

Pin Up Legend: Bettie Page

I do not recall when I encontered the infamous Bettie Page, but I am sure it was probably from my father or maybe even my Aunt. Yes, I said Aunt! She always collected this all sorts of books and I could have ran across her images in those books or my fathers smut collection. But her pictorials were not easily forgotten. She was ahead of time and knew how to capture your eye and heart. I was always getting into place and things that kids my age had no business being but there she was and so was I.

I recall seeing her in all sorts of outfits from tame to wild. I rememeber seeing her everywhere I turned. It was from big print to small print, black and white to full color. Her images jumped from the those pages. She is still the queen of pin up. Indulge....

The Addams Family Vs. The Munsters

These two shows were great and something rather interesting to watch as a kid. They both were monsterish types of families living somewhat normal lives. I loved both of the shows equally and they both were comedies. There was no real way to pit one against another, they both aired in the 60's and both carried a huge fan base even to this day. Indulge in them both, if you can.

Wow, 106! I am not stating, I watched every single episode here, but I did watch each one of these shows. I cannot believe this list is just from the 60's & 70's era. Next is the 80's & 90's.

The Andy Griffith Show /Gomer Plye,U.S.M.C.

While searching the web, I ran across other T.V. shows that just flooded me with more childhood memories. I remember watching every single episode to both of these shows. First off was The Andy Griffith show that lead into a cast member named Gomer Pyle getting his own series.

The show took place in the fictional town of Mayberry, North Carolina, where Taylor, a widower and was the towns sheriff. His life is complicated by an inept but well-meaning deputy, Barney Fife, a spinster aunt and housekeeper, Aunt Bee, and a young son, Opie. Sheriff Taylor's level-headed approach to law enforcement makes him the scourge of local moonshiners and out-of-town criminals, while his abilities to settle community problems with common-sense advice, mediation and conciliation make him popular with his fellow citizens.

I remember when Andy Taylor took Gomer Pyle to the U.S.M.C., this spin-off was just as good as the The Griffith Show. Gomer Pyle was a simple-minded gas station attendant and later auto mechanic that wanted to enlist with the Marines. Gomer's naivety immediately exasperates his drill instructor, Sergeant Carter, it was based at a fictional Camp Henderson in California. I can still remember each episode having these catchphrases, "Shazam!", "Gaaw-aawl-ly" and "Surprise, surprise, surprise!" Indulge into the series if you can, you won't be sorry.

Will The Real Fugitive, Please Stand Up?!

Ok, so why I am dating back to all the shows I watched as a kid, maybe just a bit of Nostalgia is the crisp morning air in October, who knows! I am loving this going back in time, rehashing my childhood. Get used to it, if you are reading my blogs, I love my childhood.

The Fugivitve was played David Janssen as Dr. Richard Kimble, a doctor from the fictional town of Stafford, Indiana, who is falsely convicted of his wife's murder and given the death penalty. En route to death row, Kimble's train derails and crashes, allowing him to escape and begin a cross-country search for the real killer, a "one-armed man".

I remember the opening part......

Name: Richard Kimble. Profession: Doctor of Medicine. Destination: Death Row, state prison. Richard Kimble has been tried and convicted for the murder of his wife. But laws are made by men, carried out by men. And men are imperfect. Richard Kimble is innocent. Proved guilty, what Richard Kimble could not prove was that moments before discovering his wife's body, he encountered a man running from the vicinity of his home. A man with one arm. A man he had never seen before. A man who has not yet been found. Richard Kimble ponders his fate as he looks at the world for the last time. And sees only darkness. But in that darkness, fate moves its huge hand.

This show was another one that was ahead of it's time, in my opinion. I was on the edge of my seat every single episode. I have even set through watching them from time to time when nothing else was on, go just to dip back in a simplier time. Indulge in this series, if you can!

Twilight Zone/Night Gallery

Staying with Halloween theme this month and flashing back to my childhood. These were two other show that captivated me. The first one was the Twilight Zone hosted by the Rod Serling,The series consisted of unrelated episodes depicting paranormal, futuristic, dystopian, or simply disturbing events; each show typically featured a surprising plot twist and was usually brought to closure with some sort of message.

Night Gallery was the next show, once again, hosted by Rod Serling. He would appear in an art gallery setting and introduced the macabre tales that made up each episode by unveiling paintings that depicted the stories in each show.

These two shows, I fell in love with and still to this day, I can still watch them and love them just as much as I did was kid. It's crazy to think about how good these shows were in this era of T.V. and just think my Mammaw(my grandmother) turned me onto these two shows. For that, I thank her! Indulge into these shows if you can.

Elvira, Mistress of the Dark

When I think of Halloween, I think back to when I was kid, dressing up and running from house to house collecting as much candy as I possibly could in the short amount of time I had. Then heading back home to sort through all the goods of my Trick Or Treat adventure. Weeding out the junk candy from the good candy. I also remember back then, sitting by the T.V. watching scary movies and waiting for Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. She was extremely buxom and very comical as the host of  "Elvira's Movie Macabre", I remember her clowning on the characters and scripts in those B rated movies while she was reclined in her red Victorian couch all the while I was non-stop consuming all my treats from the evening. Ahhh, the good ol' days!
