The Rubix's Cube

This was a mind boggling little toy. I loved it and played with it for many months to follow. I got it for Christmas one year right after it surfaced. They were in high demand. I remember every kid on the school bus had one at one time. It kept us all intrigued for a number of months. I remember there was only one kid in school that could figure it out and at a fast speed. I think I gave up after a few weeks but tinkered with it for months afterwards.

The Flintstones Big Wheel

I do not remember the year I got this big wheel but I know the story beinhd it and it makes me smile every time. I was visiting my grandparents house one weekend when my pappaw asked me if I wanted to go to the auction with him. I had no idea what an auction was but I loved being out of the house, so I agreed. I went this auction, which had many neat items ranging from painting to cars to big wheels? Yes, big wheels! I remember, I could not see all the items being sold, so my pappaw put me on his shoulders so I see better. I guess when they rolled out the big wheel it was all over. I somehow bid on it. I do not recall the amount of money my pappaw forked over for it, but I did not hear the end of it on the car ride back from Lakeland.

Kickball

The next sport that I used to love was, kickball. We used to kickball for hours. From school to home, it was an activity that I loved. Why? Because I was damn good at kicking the ball, my friend in elementary school showed me how to kick it the right way, it was over. I would kick that ball and it seemed like it would go a mile. I was no longer had to run the bases. I would just walk them and smile. There was a trick to  it, I used to stand and kick it, but runnning was the key.

Then the ball doubled for a game of dodge ball. This was another game that was so fun but not so much fun when you got hit. This ball could really be thrown with speed because of it being so light and avoiding getting hit in the face or head. I remember being hit many times back when I was a kid and I also remember returning the favor many times over.

Daisy Red Ryder B.B. Gun

I really do not know a good age to give a kid a B.B. gun, I got one when I was like....10 or 11. This was probably too young. I was a good kid and a wee bit spoiled being an only child so it was only natural that I would get the first B.B. gun on the block. Good Ole Leggits in Apopka came through for me on probably my birthday or Christmas.
The havoc that I reeked with this will go with me to my grave, lol! I shot everything imaginable with this gun and was a damn good shot with it, I was a pro! This gun got me into more trouble than I will ever share. I know my son will be requesting one these types of guns in the very near future and how can I say, no! My parents didn't and I know all to well the hell that gun can get you in....

Wiffle Ball

Believe it or not, I hated sports when I was a kid. I think being brainwashed into being into sports is what did it, parents! The weird thing is, I loved playing them with just friends. I remember playing baseball as a kid with friends and loved it, add an outfit and make it boring competitive and I hated it! Take football, loved it with my friends, add a helmet and make it for a trophy, I hated it! Soccer with friends, loved it, add an outfit and a goal net, hated it! This list could go on, but you get my drift. I was pushed and pushed into sports and the end result, I hated sports.
Hell, I could not even watch them for years. I can now sit through a live game and suffer through one on T.V., but by being pushed into every sport as kid and willing knowing that I didn't want to be, I grew to hate them. I loved sports with friends but even in school, I hated gym. I was not into forced activities.
One sport of many, that I loved was wiffle ball. Simple, plastic ball and ball. This was a past time that I loved and could not wait to play.

The Battle Of The Two Heathers

When I was a kid, there was a buzz about these two actresses. Heather Thomas was famous for her role as  Jody Banks the T.V. series, "The Fall Guy" and the other was Heather Lockler for her role as Officer Stacy Sheridan on T.V. series "T.J. Hooker". I always felt, Heather Thomas was far better looking than Heather Lockler but she fell the radar and Heather Lockler took over the spotlight.

Documenting My Life

I am about to embark on a journey back into time. This is going to be a documentation of my life. Dedicated to my son. I am going back to my parents first house and go from there to my current residence. I am going to take pictures and write stories for him to read and possibly share with his children. I feel so empty thinking back on my family tree. We have no real documentation of our lives, a few pictures here and there, just doesnt cut it for me. I am such a visual person. I want my son to know me and where I came from. Who I am and some of my struggles and triumphs. I want this documented because tomorrow is uncertain and as weird as this sounds, I want my life to be documented by me and told by me.

G.I. Joe Action Figure (Kung Fu Grip)

This is a long time running joke with my parents. When I was a child my parents bought me this action figure named G.I. Joe, it was around the latter 70's time frame. I do not remember how the gift came into play, either for a birthday or Christmas present. It shortly became my favorite toy. The best part, it was a talking action figure, pull this string and he said a few words. They are stated on the outside of the box, each set of sayings. One night we were gathered around after dinner watching T.V. and I was on a rampage with this toy and out the blue, he broke...well...to some degree. His sayings were bundled together. The best saying that we can remember to this day was, "Rough going, can you make it". There were others one combined not like this one, it was hilarous! Some from time to time, we all still say his one saying.."Rough going, can you make it!"

A Geanie Vs. A Witch? Yes!

These were two very hot ladies back in the day, Barbara Eden and Elizabeth Montgomery. I remember being glued to the T.V. set very day to watch them both.

I Dream of Jeannie is a 1960s American sitcom with a fantasy premise. The show starred Barbara Eden as a 2000-year-old female genie, and Larry Hagman as an astronaut who becomes her master, with whom she falls in love and eventually marries.

Bewitched was a show about a witch  starring Elizabeth Montgomery who marries a mortal and tries to lead the life of a typical suburban housewife. The Rockford Files

Flashing back to sitting at my grandmothers house and while she is gearing up to watch good ole Jim Rockford. This was another great show from my childhood. I just remember so many times, sitting there with my grandmother watching this show. So many memories......

The Rockford Files is an American drama series which originally aired on the NBC television network between September 13, 1974 and January 10, 1980; it has remained in regular syndication to the present day. The show stars James Garner as Los Angeles based private investigator Jim Rockford.

Telly Savalas a.k.a Kojak

Ok! So, I am hung up on bringing back pieces of my childhood. But when I started this page, it turned into many other projects. But I am not trying to focus on my childhood to the present me. So, when I rehased all the T.V. shows, this all spawned from there.

Kojak is an American television series starring Telly Savalas as the title character, bald New York City Police Department Detective LieutenantTheo Kojak. It aired from October 24, 1973, to March 18, 1978, on CBS.

Perry Mason Vs. Ironside

This is another set of T.V. shows that my grandmother turned me onto when I little. I loved watching them both. Raymond Burr was the main actor in both shows. It's hard to think that I watched these types of shows as a kid, but my grandmother loved them and Raymond Burr. She would always talk so highly of him.


Perry Mason ran from September 1957 to May 1966 on CBS. The title character, portrayed by Raymond Burr, is a fictional Los Angeles defense attorney. At one time, the show was "television's most successful and longest-running lawyer series.

Ironside is a Universal television series which ran on NBC from September 14, 1967 to January 16, 1975.The show starred Raymond Burr as the wheelchair-using Chief of Detectives, Robert T. Ironside.
